Sheffield House

C.P. Hart recently created three new bathrooms for the owners of Sheffield House. A full-house renovation, the owners specified a cloakroom, shower room, and family bathroom, each packed with colour and textural interest.

With a background in floristry, the owners of Sheffield House wanted the bathrooms to feature plenty of colour and texture, with each bathroom feeling different to the next whilst maintaining a sense of cohesion.

Frequently used by the owners’ family and guests, the cloakroom was designed to act as a talking point. “We started with a backdrop of two contrasting tiles: Victorian-style tiles for the floor and niches and smooth, light-reflecting tiles for the walls,” says Emma Scott, Director of Client Design. “Black accents were to be a theme throughout the home, so we chose the striking Duravit Happy D.2 WC in ‘Anthracite’, wall hung to free floor space.”

At the vanity area, the Cielo Shui washbowl in ‘Anemone’ gives the cloakroom its characterful burst of colour, sat on an IdeaGroup Dogma stand and paired with a Dornbracht Tara basin mixer, both finished in black.

“The Drench Deco crittall-style shower screen was the starting point for this shower room,” explains Emma. “It adds an industrial edge that works wonderfully with the Brushed Brass Gessi Inciso shower fittings.” Also in Brushed Brass, the Gessi Insico basin mixer features a tactile knurled handle, partnered with the Cielo Narciso Mini basin stand in the ‘Muschio’ and ‘Rovere Naturale’ finishes.

“We had a lot of fun with the tiling in this space, opting for patterned tiles underfoot and stone-effect tiles behind the vanity area. In the shower, the walls are adorned with neutral stacked tiling that complements the crittall-style frame beautifully.”

The family bathroom is a true amalgamation of colour and texture. “Ample storage was key,” says Emma, “and the owners wanted a contemporary unit in keeping with the rest of the interior.” As such, the Design team selected the Quadra vanity unit by Artelinea, specified in ‘Peonia Flutes’ and ‘Cashmere Silk’ and characterised by its fluted front.

“A generously sized freestanding bath was high on the owners’ wishlist,” Emma shares. “Having tried a lot of baths, we landed on the Ashton & Bentley Devoque bath in Matt White.” In addition to the bath, the family bathroom features a spacious walk-in shower, complete with Drench Frame shower screens and our exclusive Spillo and Fima SO shower fittings in Brushed Black Chrome.

The TOTO Washlet, positioned in the corner of the suite, gives the space a true sense of luxury. A toilet/bidet hybrid with an automatic and heated seat, this washlet enhances bathroom hygiene with its various spray functions and rimless design.
