Details of the range

Shui and Shui Comfort, from Italian brand Cielo, are a new and exclusive range of ceramics to C.P. Hart. Based in Civita Castellana, to the north of Rome, Cielo has been making high-quality ceramics since the early 20th century.

Cielo reinvented the way in which ceramics were produced. Whereas many other companies have attempted to speed up the manufacturing process, Cielo prides itself on the time they take to make their products. Their factory has the nickname of the ‘Slow Factory’, which gives an indication of the time and care taken on each piece to ensure its perfection.

Cielo gives priority to the culture of the handmade, using time-honoured techniques passed down through generations of master artisans.

What we love about Shui

Shui and Shui Comfort are both truly versatile ranges. If you have a more compact bathroom, they offer basins and WCs that can be wall mounted to maximise your floor space. If you have a little more room, their stunning freestanding basins can provide an eye-catching focal point in your bathroom.

To complete the look of your bathroom, we suggest pairing the Shui ceramics with some of our most sculptural brassware – the Cono collection by Gessi is an edgy, contemporary brassware range that comes in an array of striking finishes. If you would like a more muted look, we suggest the Meandro collection, a brassware range exclusive to C.P. Hart with fine curves to complement the shape of the basin and a graceful spout to complete the look of luxury.

What is your favourite product in the Shui range? And why?
The new Shui Comfort basins, the new wall-mounted WC and the new bath are our best sellers, and for good reason. The basins are especially attractive because of a unique thin ceramic called ‘extra ceramic’ – it’s both extremely hard-wearing as well as being on-trend.
What inspired the range of colour choices available for Shui?
Cielo rediscovered colour within architectural design with our ‘Le Terre di Cielo’, a palette of 12 original colours and textures for ceramics, based on natural elements. These are not only available in the Shui range, but for all our collections. Our CEO, Alessio Coramusi, is the brilliant mind that decided to drive investment into this project.

What makes these products different from others on the market?
There are many reasons: quality, design, the shapes and finishes available, innovation and cooperation with the best designers in the world (e.g. Claudio Silvestrin, Karim Rashid, Marco Piva and Studio 5.5), and how we only use superior quality raw materials with no trace of harmful substances, to name but a few. Finally, the passion that we put into crafting our products is evident – our products are proudly ‘Made in Italy’.

The Cielo products, including the Shui collection, are all handmade. What does this mean for the overall quality of the product?
Every item is 100% glazed inside and out, 100% tried and tested, and 100% rectified, thanks to our unique artisan manufacturing techniques. It is down to the extraordinary ability of our expert craftsman that we are able to produce items of such quality.
