Islington Penthouse

The owners of Islington Penthouse, a spacious two-floor property in central Islington, undertook a complete home renovation that included a full redesign of their three bathrooms, each designed and supplied by C.P. Hart.
The Shower Room

The Shower Room

The first bathroom of the penthouse, serving as the main guest bathroom, was designed to be warm and balanced, with a neutral palette accented by black and wood elements. “We chose a wooden slat back panel to introduce texture and warmth, whilst the striking Nero Marquina marble backsplash and vanity top from our Marvel tile collection add dramatic flair,” says the Design team.

“This bathroom is a play on black and white symmetry,” the team explains. “For the white elements, we selected the Cielo Enjoy WC and Shui washbowl in Talco, and the IdeaGroup Cubik vanity in Matt White. In contrast, the Matt Black Merlyn shower door homes Spillo shower fittings, minimalist in design and exclusive to C.P. Hart, with a matching Spillo towel rail positioned on the opposite wall.”

The curved Artelinea Atollo mirror emits a soft glow, enhancing the sense of space by reflecting light off the shower screen.

The Primary Bathroom

The Primary Bathroom

The primary bathroom is set on a more pared-back scheme, swathed with large-format Coast Light tiles and decorated with stacked Abiquiu Green tiling along the back wall.

“The generous floorplan presented ample space for a double vanity,” says the team. “As such, we specified IdeaGroup’s Dolcevita vanity unit in Rovere Naturale in an impressive 2000mm length, finished with fluted drawer fronts mirrored in the opposite arched panel wall.” To balance the tiles, the owners selected Cielo’s Era washbasins in Agave, complete with Gessi 316 Flessa mixers in Brushed Steel, also seen in the shower and at the bath.

The shower - the bathroom’s standout feature - undertook reconstructive work to create a raised arched walk-in space, cocooning in design, much like a room in its own right. “As dramatic as it is functional, the back wall’s inset shelf with LED lighting invites the user, whilst tactfully positioned towel hooks at the shower’s entrance keep the showering experience separate from the main space.”

Our exclusive Coniston freestanding bath, finished in Matt White, completes the bathroom, rivalling the vanity unit at an also impressive – and sumptuous – 1800mm length.

The Ensuite

A wave of blue, our exclusive Luminous Lume gloss tiles in China Blu sweep the bathroom, offsetting the matt Bianco Dolomite tiles from our Marvel range. “The owners specified Brushed Brass brassware for the ensuite, all from Gessi’s 316 Flessa collection,” add the Design team. “The gold continues to the Majestic wetroom panel, the flush plate and toilet roll holder, also from Gessi in Brushed Brass, the twin Astro Bari lights, and the Cielo Oval mirror.”

The IdeaGroup Cubik vanity sits at the room’s heart, radiating with its Noce Canaletto wooden finish. On top, a Cielo Shui washbasin in Talco sits on an Aquatek countertop, purposefully engineered to be stain, scratch, and chemical resistant.

The Result

Islington Penthouse is a testament to the versatility and transformative nature of C.P. Hart’s product collections, resulting in three beautifully crafted bathrooms that, whilst individually relaying their own design story, work cohesively in enhancing the penthouse’s modern aesthetic.

Each bathroom embodies a unique blend of luxury and functionality, from bold contrasts to soft, natural finishes, combining durability with elegance to create spaces that exude warmth, style, and a refined sense of luxury.
