C.P. Hart’s design team worked closely with Marcus Fairs, founder and editor-in-chief of Dezeen magazine, and his wife Rupinder to transform their family bathroom into a modern space that continued to harmonise with the property’s Victorian backdrop.The Specification
With both clients being extremely design-orientated, C.P. Hart's brief was to create a family bathroom with nods to both their personalities, opening the space to include a walk-in shower, a freestanding bath and a double basin with plenty of storage.The C.P. Hart design team warmed the space with grey tones and wooden finishes throughout, incorporating a Duravit Luv vanity basin stand in stone grey with a natural walnut top and twin Duravit Luv basins. Two black-framed lozenge-shaped mirror cabinets from Cielo Ceramica were fitted above each basin to amplify the room. From Dornbracht's Vaia range, the brassware ties the bathroom together, finished in platinum matt on the basin mixers, freestanding bath mixer, shower fixings and towel rail.
The Result
C.P. Hart designed and created a modern and highly functional area that felt less like a bathroom and more a space for living and relaxing, as briefed by the clients. To add an element of privacy in such a large space, the C.P. Hart designers zoned off areas of the room with a solid end wall behind the shower. This impressive architectural feature prevented the bathroom from feeling too cavernous.“We were really happy with the service we received from C.P.
