Creating A Cosy Bathroom Retreat

Creating A Cosy Bathroom Retreat

Embrace the colder seasons by transforming your bathroom into a cosy, warm, and inviting retreat with the guidance of C.P. Hart's expertly qualified designers.

As the days shorten and the air turns crisp, autumn calls for nurturing interiors with comforting ambience where light, texture, and tone converge to restore balance in the colder months.

Accentuating the importance of wellbeing, our designers share how thoughtful details and the latest home spa innovations can transform your bathroom into your very own serene oasis.

Introduce Sunshower

“Wave goodbye to limited seasonal sun with Sunshower,” exclaims Yousef Mansuri, C.P. Hart Director of Design. “Sunshower is the ultimate way to introduce the positive benefits of natural sunlight into the showering routine all year round, particularly during the colder months where the days are shorter and sunshine is scarce.”

Available in various sizes and mounting configurations, Sunshower, designed to be installed inside the showering area, emits safe low-dose UV light and infrared, offering a plethora of health benefits, including nourishing and relaxing the body and improving vitality, mobility, and sleep. Available in a variety of formats, Sunshower brings wellness directly into the rhythm of everyday living.

A Warm Colour Palette

“Incorporating a warm colour palette is key to creating a cosy bathroom,” Yousef explains.

This year, a standout trend is the arrival of Mocha Mousse, Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2025. Its soft, muted brown carries understated warmth, sophisticated enough to elevate a contemporary interior while versatile enough to enrich a traditional scheme.

“Infuse the space with the warmth of the season, opting for rich, earthy tones as a grounding base to soften the space. Layer it with deep accents like rust, ochre, or deep burgundy to heighten the seasonal palette.

“If you’re looking for an opportunity for change, consider a fresh coat of paint or renewed bathroom tiling. Otherwise, adding these hues through accessories such as towels and bath mats is just as effective.”

Textures & Materials

“Embrace the tactile beauty of the season by introducing wooden textures and woven materials to the bathroom”, says Emma Scott, C.P. Hart Director of Client Design. Wooden elements, such as stools, bath slats, and shelves introduce an organic warmth, while woven textures such as hand finished rugs, add depth and comfort underfoot.

“For those looking to transform their bathroom into a personal home spa, the latest ‘Natural’ sauna by Italian experts Effe is composed of heat-treated Aspen that carries a warming timber essence to enhance the sense of nature.”

Seasonal Bathroom Accessories

Small details can dramatically shift the tone of a bathroom. Emma suggests layering seasonal touches for autumnal impact:

“Seasonal decorative accessories are an easy way to instantly make the bathroom feel like a cosy retreat in the colder months,” says Emma. “Dried foliage in sculptural vases, paired with clusters of candles create atmosphere. Fragrances with autumnal depth such as fig, cinnamon, clove, cedarwood, and orange work wonderfully to complement the mood of the season.”

Artwork is another versatile styling element. Rotating pieces to reflect seasonal palettes whether with natural landscapes or abstract prints in Mocha Mousse and russet shades allow for refreshing, adaptable design.

SHOP LIGHTING
Gentle Lighting

“Lighting plays a crucial role in setting the mood in your bathroom regardless of the season, though even more so during the darker evenings of autumn/winter when relaxing downtime becomes part of the daily routine,” says Yousef.

“Our app-controlled Zuma lights combine low-energy LED light with high-fidelity audio, offering adjustable brightness with your choice of sound, be it a personal playlist or one of Zuma’s curated wellbeing audio scenes.”

“Alternative ambient bathroom lighting can be created through dimmer switches, niche lighting, and LED mirrors. Many of our LED mirrors have sensor controls that let you alter the warmth of the light from a bright white light to a more gentle orange glow.”
