Green Bathroom Design Ideas
A colour synonymous with nature, balance, and relaxation, the surge of green bathrooms catapults into the year ahead as the shade takes on new and exciting forms in the bathroom space.
Below, our expert designers provide guidance on incorporating colour into your bathroom, showcasing real-life design projects and introducing the latest collections that celebrate the versatility of green.

Inspiration: Forest Green Bathroom
Little Venice
The owner of Little Venice, a design project in London’s Regent’s Canal, loved the idea of a green and pink scheme.
“Strategic bursts of dark colour in a small space accentuate specific areas of the bathroom to create the illusion of depth,” says C.P. Hart designer Fredi Maria Rees. “For this project, we used accents of forest green at the basin – the bathroom’s fore element – and in the shower and WC niches – the two furthest points from the entryway. We then softened the green with a painted pink wall – a delicate middle point to blur the contrast between the green and white.”

Inspiration: Sage Bathroom
Sundridge Park
“Once the owners of Sundridge Park had settled on sage green as their bathroom’s feature colour, I was able to take a holistic view of the space to determine how and where to incorporate the shade to maximum effect,” explains C.P. Hart designer Hanna Madziar.
“With ample space to play with, we were able to cast our nets further when selecting the various sage elements. The Amazzonite tiles were the starting point, favoured for their distinct veining and delicate use of gold and green. I then specified Cielo’s Era washbowls in ‘Lino’ – a tone more on the yellow side that still captures the paler greens from the tiles. Opposite, we painted our exclusive Camden bath in a soft matching sage.”
The cloakroom of Sundridge Park also features a sage basin, masterfully crafted from concrete by British makers Kast and specified from the Elm Mini range.

How To Choose the Right Shade of Green
So says the theory of colour, choosing the right shade of green for your bathroom can affect the mood – or tone – of the space. A soft sage, for example, conveys calm and relaxation, whereas punchier forest greens add depth to a space, as explored above. Olive and moss greens, also popular in bathrooms, are perfect for creating an earthy, nature-inspired environment, particularly when paired with exposed wood or terracotta tiles.
“We have certainly seen a movement towards warmth and comfort in bathrooms, and using colour is such a wonderful way to achieve that,” says Emma Scott, C.P. Hart’s Director of Client Design. “Bathrooms used to be white, almost clinical in aesthetic, and the welcomed shift to colour helps create spaces that feel like an extension of the living room or bedroom. It’s one of the most enjoyable parts of our Design Service – we work with the client to identify the colours that bring them the most joy, and then curate shades, finishes, patterns, and textures to bring the space to life.”
How To Create a Green Bathroom
“Creating a green bathroom doesn’t necessarily mean the whole space needs to be draped in an assortment of the colour (though colour drenching is very much back in). In fact, colour is often its most striking when introduced in short, impactful bursts,” explains Emma.

Green Bathroom Tiles
Installing coloured bathroom tiles is often the most direct and straightforward way to introduce colour to the scheme, particularly when upgrading a bathroom without completing an entire renovation. “We have so many tiles to hand,” says Emma. “Each of our showrooms houses an inspiring tile area, and clients tend to find this phase of the bathroom design the most exciting.”
Selecting tiles is, essentially, setting the tone of the entire space. Coloured, textured, bursting with pattern, or inspired by rare marble – there are so many routes to travel. “Typically, clients either love pattern or love to avoid it. For those who opt for pattern, our green marble and stone-effect tiles are highly sought-after, as seen in the Sundridge Park case study above. Our Marvel, Diva, Cosmopolitan, and Wanderlust tile ranges showcase truly stunning green bathroom tiles, with each collection crafted from rectified porcelain and demonstrating remarkable realism. For those who favour block-coloured tiles, our Luminous Lume collection offers three shades of green: Verde Forest, Turquoise, and Green. What sets these tiles apart is their high-gloss finish and textural variance – impressive installed en mass or simply as the vanity’s backsplash.”

Green Bathroom Furniture
“We love sourcing products that bring colour into the bathroom in new and exciting ways, and furniture is an excellent example of that,” says Emma. “Design trends, affordability, and advancements in technology have brought coloured bathroom furniture to the fore, whether painted, lacquered, or featuring a green marble top.”
Our Hoxton Colour furniture range is available in Forest Green and Misty Green satin finishes, amongst 12 others. Similarly, our Grove Furniture collection (enter Rowan, Hazel, Hawthorn, Odell, and Willow) offer a palette of 19 painted finishes, including Mallard Green, Baltic Green, Gooseberry, and Thyme. The bathroom furniture also comes primed, ready to be painted in any colour of choice. “As for the tops, many of our furniture collections present an array of marbles, including our Grove collection, offering the more classical White Carrara or a rarer, more adventurous stone such as Green Guatemala.”

Painted Green Baths
The bath is another opportune way to inject colour into the space. “Our exclusive freestanding baths offer outstanding flexibility,” says Emma. “Many of our baths are supplied primed as standard and can be specified in any paint colour to match your scheme. If you take the RAL palette, that’s already over 2,000 colour choices!”
The owners of our Waldron Place design project specified an IdeaGroup vanity unit in the brand’s Verde Canna finish. To match, they selected a generous freestanding bath, bespoke painted to the exact same green for a true sense of cohesion.

Green Basins & Toilets
When most think of green basins and toilets, they’re cast back to the era of slightly off-avocado bathrooms, carpet underfoot. Today, with thanks to Italian makers Cielo, green sanitaryware has made a stylish comeback, with the brand’s collection of coloured basins and toilets available in over 15 tasteful, fully glazed shades, redefining modern bathroom design.
“A green basin or toilet is such an exciting way to introduce colour into the bathroom,” explains Emma. “Cielo’s Agave basin delivers a sense of luxury, as seen in our Islington Penthouse design project, whilst a green toilet brings unexpected design flair. These pieces turn everyday fixtures into focal points, giving bathrooms an unmatched sense of character.”
